Moments of Reflection
Some people blog to create,
some inspire
some educate
some share
some entertain
& some incorporate all of the above!
I blog to reflect. In my quiet moments, that's what I do... reflect. I reflect on moments. Moments I experience that make my heart rejoice. Moments that make life so beautiful to me. Moments that I want to share with my children someday, so they will know WHO I am and what touches me the most.
Like the moments I spent at a hospital early one morning 2 weeks ago, invited to share in a most beautiful event. To witness the pure love and joy a family shared in bringing a precious spirit into this world. Beautiful. Heart-warming. Miraculous. Heavenly. To me, there is nothing closer to heaven on earth! Life. It matters!
Or moments that are the complete opposite. Heart-breaking. To see a lost soul struggle to find herself. A child of God, just like me, who just isn't strong enough to fight and conquer the issues that make her weak. Yet, her choices affect so many other people's lives as well. People who are left to try and pick up the pieces and just hope & pray for them to be all put back together. A life matters!
Moments that matter.
The past few weeks I have been wanting to blog about my special word: live! I even tried to be like some of you CUTE & CREATIVE bloggers who blog with flair in every post. Sorry. Didn't happen!
(How do you do that anyway...don't you ever run out?) Anyway...
I love and agree with this quote,
"Thoughts become words, words become action, action becomes habits, habits become character, & character is everything!"
As I thought of the word live, used in this sense;
verb; live- to experience or enjoy life to the full
And as I began to ponder about current events in my life that fill me with great emotion, I realized Wow, my life is so live! (used in this sense;
–adverb;
of a radio or television program, at the moment of its happening or being performed; not on tape or by prerecording
My life is being filmed in front of a live studio audience. (My children ( my biggest viewers) my family, friends, peers, etc.) My life even contains [CC] Closed Caption for the hearing impaired ( my actions) Sure, this may be something we all know...that people are watching us. That the way we live is a reflection of who we are. Do we do what we do just to get through the year to see if we have been nominated for an Emmy? Or do we live our life for a greater reward?
In every experience I face in life, I learn! I have found that since I have become a mother, I also grow closer to my Father in Heaven with every experience I have. Big or small. Good or bad. Life-changing or not. I live with extreme gratitude in my heart for parents who raised me to know my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ! I live with a surety that our lives matter. Not only to those in our earthly "studio audience", but to our heavenly audience as well. And believe me, there are some special people there who I want to make proud! Some extremely special people who I know will be there to welcome me with loving arms. People who I cannot wait to see again.
But for now. I continue to live. (as used in the first sense) And I will try my hardest to live my life to earn not a greater reward, but the greatest reward!
So, as the song says, I want to sign His name at the end of each of my days, knowing that my heart was true! I want to bring a smile to Him...Let my life's song sing to Him!

Not just a word
So... a sweet friend of mine and her blogging buddies take part in a WORD for the year. I love it! I have always loved words that truly mean something to me..not just letters put together. It gives new meaning to a word, makes it a little more special, and a little more personal. These are a few of my favorites, I love these words!
But...this year I choose a word that represents not just a word, but an action word, an emotion, a choice....MY choice!
The instant I read this quote, the words touched my heart! I agree with every word and this truly defines success to me

I want to not just endure or survive....or have to take a deep breath just to know I am alive. I want to live each day to the absolute fullest! And... I want others to know I have been here!
And so I will start this year off by letting the amazing people in my life know how much they mean to me and they will know that I have lived a sweeter, more memorable & more special life because they are in it!
I have lived before. But...
Today. A New Year. A new chance. 2009
I choose to live to a much higher level!
